Lawn care in Palm Harbor

Palm Harbor is unincorporated and it is one of the largest communities in Pinellas County. It is made up almost entirely of planned subdivisions built from the 1970s onward, and a good number of those have an association and a set of standards the yard is expected to keep to.

01 What we do here

All eight of our services are available in Palm Harbor

Most properties here are on a regular maintenance schedule, weekly through the growing season. The rest of the work can be added to a scheduled visit while the crew is already at the property.

02 Local conditions

What lawns in Palm Harbor have to deal with

Palm Harbor is not one kind of neighborhood. Three things about the way it was built show up in the yards, and all three change what a visit has to do.

Deed restricted subdivisions

A great many of the subdivisions here have an association, and an association usually sets standards for lawn height, for weeds in the beds and for the edge along the sidewalk. Those standards are enforceable, and a homeowner can be written to about a yard that has got away from them.

Mature canopy on the older streets

The streets built in the 1970s and 1980s have live oaks that have had decades to close over the road. Grass under a canopy like that gets a fraction of the light it needs, and it gets the leaf drop and the acorns as well, so the same lawn can behave quite differently front and back.

The golf course side to the east

The east side of Palm Harbor, out toward Innisbrook and Lake Tarpon, has golf course and preserve land in it. Lots there are more open and almost all irrigated, and the back of the lot often runs up against growth coming in from the other side of the property line.

Close view of a crisply edged lawn where St. Augustine grass meets a concrete driveway.

What that means for the schedule

Where a property has standards to keep to, the schedule is doing most of the work. A weekly cut through the growing season holds the lawn under the height it is measured at, and edging the driveway, the sidewalk and the bed lines on every visit is the first thing anyone notices from the street.

Bed upkeep is usually written into the same standards, so weeding the beds and keeping the mulch at an even depth matters as much as the grass does. If a letter has already come about the yard, tell us on the call, because that changes what the first visit needs to be.

03 Coverage

Where in Palm Harbor we work

We cover the 34683 / 34684 ZIP codes, which between them are the whole of Palm Harbor. The two of them split the community either side of US 19: 34683 runs west toward Ozona, Crystal Beach and the Gulf, and 34684 runs east toward Lake Tarpon.

Palm Harbor reaches from the Dunedin line in the south to the Tarpon Springs line in the north, so a route through it can take in Ozona and Crystal Beach on the west side and East Lake Road on the east. If your street sits on a run we already make, we can usually hold a tighter schedule, and that is worth asking about on the call.
